Jackson Attorney Celebrates her 20th Anniversary: February 1, 2003 to February 1, 2023

On February 1, 2023, Attorney Gwendolyn K. Christeson, owner of The Estate Planning Law Center, hosted an open house for clients and colleagues to celebrate 20 years of business in Jackson, California. Guests enjoyed an array of food and beverages from local businesses including; raspberry champagne from Avio Vineyards; appetizers provided by She’s So Charcuterie; and desserts from Shauna’s Sweets.

Twenty years ago on February 1, 2003, Gwendolyn opened her first law office at 35 Court Street, across the street from the original Amador County Superior Court. It was a small space, approximately 300 square feet, with a shared bathroom and copier. She recalls dial-up internet and sending her calls to Volcano telephone answering service when she was at court, with a client, or caring for her son, Connor, who is now almost 20 years old.

As Christeson’s law practice grew, she expanded in 2008 with a move to 713 Court Street, where she had approximately 1,000 square feet which housed a conference room and interior offices. It was a great location, from which she had not intended to move until she had an incredible opportunity in 2011 to purchase a historic building on Main Street.

She and her husband Erik Christeson renovated the commercial building for its current use as The Estate Planning Law Center. The Christesons took the building down to its studs and remodeled the entire interior. More importantly, she was able to participate in the continued growth and revitalization of downtown Jackson.

Prior to opening her first law office, Gwendolyn worked in San Diego California for a few large law firms, where she mainly handled real estate and corporate law. Naturally, when she opened her first office, these areas remained her focus. After graduating and continuing with the same firm, she traded in “Big Law” and Southern California to relocate to Jackson, California to be closer to family living in Northern California and to raise her children.

Since 2020, Gwendolyn is recognized as a legal specialist in her field of estate planning by the California State Bar because she has gone beyond the standard licensing requirements by successfully demonstrating a broad-based and comprehensive experience in the specialty area.

She wants to thank the community for their continued support and feels privileged to have served here for 20 years.  She will continue to assist clients with preparing their legal documents and assisting their loved ones with probate and trust administration.  For more information about Gwendolyn and her law center, please visit teplc.com or https://www.facebook.com/teplc.
